Bounce back with a good night’s sleep in print campaign from Ogilvy & Mather India

Mahatma Gandhi.jpgOgilvy India had to convey that spring mattresses give one a good night’s sleep. In a category ridden with clutter, this piece of communication had to be memorable and result in sales. This series of print advertisements break the benefit-driven format of the category, focusing on the results instead. The idea was born from the insight that a good night’s worth of sleep on a spring mattress helps you recover both mentally and physically from damage. What some of the world’s most successful people have in common is the ability to turn adversities to their advantage in the long run. Effectively, they bounce back to life.

To bounce back, as a figure of speech, also lends itself effortlessly to the spring mattress category. The ads were therefore stories about famous personalities bouncing back or reclaiming their lives to become legends.
