Ed Cheong.jpgiris Worldwide Singapore has appointed Ed Cheong as Creative Director reporting to Grant Hunter, Regional Creative Director and Craig Mapleston, Managing Director, iris Worldwide Singapore.

Cheong joins iris from DDB where he was Creative Director. In that time, he got consumers to help demolish an online store, made parents steal the spotlight at an advertising awards show, and was instrumental in helping his key client bag its first awards in Promo and Digital. In his new role, Cheong will take on lead responsibilities for Heineken Singapore along with other key clients and will help realise iris’ creative innovation agenda.

In addition, iris has also promoted key members of the creative team in recognition of their contribution to the agency’s success: Jonathan Cockett and Timothy Chan step up to Deputy Creative Directors respectively. Shawn Foo to Head of Art and Errol Tan and Daniel Koh to Creative Group Heads.

Commenting on his new appointment, Cheong said, “Over the last three years at DDB, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside folks with talents bigger than their egos. Now I look forward to game time with iris and its lovely bunch of innovators. Our vision is to make stuff that matters as we go beyond ads.”

“With our continued investment in creative innovation, Ed joins us at the next stage of our evolution. The agency has already built a reputation for surprising creative work here in Singapore and we continue to question traditional models. Ed’s blend of storytelling, human insight and curiosity will be a perfect fit and accompaniment to the creative folks here on China Street. Jono, Tim, Shawn, Errol and Daniel have shown that they all have the creative firepower and the leadership potential to step up to the next level”, said Hunter.
