This year’s Portfolio Night, hosted by Ogilvy & Mather China in Beijing and Shanghai, saw 41 of China’s top creative directors from the world’s best agencies including O&M, JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi and more convene to review the creative advertising portfolios of more than 150 aspiring creatives.

At the end of the night, O&M offered paid internships and jobs to the best participants at the Beijing and Shanghai events. The newcomers will work in O&M’s creative departments.

Shenan Chuang, CEO of O&M Greater China, said, “The high energy at Portfolio Night was infectious. It is wonderful to see so many aspiring creatives having the courage to come out and see how their work weighs up professionally. I am feeling very optimistic about our next generation of local creatives.”

In addition, each city nominated their most impressive candidate to fly to New York in August to participate in the Portfolio Night All-Stars competition. After a week long discussion, the panel of creative judges in China nominated 26-year-old copywriter Kamph Kvang in Beijing and 23-year-old copywriter Sony Chang in Shanghai as China’s Portfolio Night All-Stars. They will join 22 other candidates in New York to collaborate on a week-long creative challenge for a real world brief.

Graham Fink, O&M China Chief Creative Officer, (pictured top left) said, “We are very pleased at the caliber of talent we saw at this year’s Portfolio Night. They hold the keys to the future of our industry in China.”
