2014 Longhand3.0 Awards where the judges write some of the ads themselves
Longhand, as the name suggests is an award show that recognizes, promotes and awards the best in long copy advertising.
And unlike other award shows where the judges judge, Longhand judges write as well. Neil French wrote a call-for-entry ad for Longhand back in 2012. Last year, David Shanks wrote a campaign.
This year, Deepak Joshi and Prathap Suthan have both written call-for-entry ads to encourage people to start writing.
It’s nice to see that an industry that pushes people to leave the old-school mumbo jumbo behind and instead start thinking visually and digitally, there are still a handful of purists that still believe words can solve real problems.
Longhand has extended its entry deadline to June 15th. So far, entries have come in from Africa, India, New York, Dubai, Singapore and Jakarta.
