40 shortlists for Asia in Media Lions: India leads with 8 followed by Singapore, China + Hong Kong
Out of a total of 227 shortlists in Media Lions, Asia has picked up 40 shortlists with India leading the way with 8. Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai and Lowe & Partners Mumbai both picked up 2 shortlists each.
Singapore, Hong Kong and China each received 5 shortlists followed by Malaysia, Japan, South Korea and The Philippines all receiving 3. Indonesia collected 2 and Taiwan and Sri Lanka 1 each.
Media Lions honours excellence in tactical media planning and placing while also giving key players in the Media industry an annual meeting point. Media for the purpose of Cannes Lions is the creative use of media, and how media ideas demonstrate understanding of the target market, innovatively implement strategy across channels and maximise business results for a successful outcome.

A believer in creating stronger bonds between media owners and their agencies for the benefit of great content, Seiler is moving agency-client relationships to pay for performance model,linking compensation directly to client growth. Under his leadership, IPG Mediabrands was named GlobalMedia Holding Company of the Year by MediaPost in 2013.
Members on the jury from Asia are: Nick Waters Chief Executive Officer Aegis Media, Hiroshi Yoshida Institute of Media Environment Manager, Hakuhodo DY Media Partners Japan and Kazumichi Iwagami, Chief Executive Officer, Dentsu, Dentsu Media & DigitalNetwork Japan.
The Media Lions trophies will be presented during the Media, Mobile and Outdoor Lions Awards Ceremony, which will take place on Tuesday night 17 June in the Grand Auditorium, Palais des Festivals.
