MOFILM.jpgChevrolet and MOFILM have partnered to celebrate, foster and nurture filmmakers from across Southeast Asia, through the ‘Academy for Southeast Asian Filmmakers’. The Academy workshops will be a free three-day course that will develop film making expertise. The course, created and delivered by experts from the local film making industry, will cover several aspects of filmmaker theory and practice, with a focus on developing the storytelling skills. Spaces on the two Academy workshops, to be held in Jakarta and Bangkok during May 2015, are limited and subject to application. The creative brief by Chevrolet will be a key part of the seminars, but is also open to creatives who didn’t attend the workshops.

Chevrolet’s relationship with MOFILM goes back five years and in March of last year, “Speed Chaser”, a film submitted by a South Korean independent film maker, aired during the Oscars broadcast. Other content produced by the MOFILM community has gone on to win awards and be shown during the Superbowl and American X Factor, reaching up to 100 million viewers worldwide.
