Seven Sunday Films gets lost in Japan
And taking the camera a little off the beaten track to bring you some of the sublime kookiness and quirkiness of Tokyo in this new spot for Gudang Garam Mild and Dentsu Strat. Directed by Spaniard Miguel Campana, the film follows a trio of friends as they explore Tokyo led by chance and their own sense of adventure.
Dancing robots, live octopus, and a showdown with a Sumo – this film has it all. Seven Sundays Executive Producer Rachel Srisumarsih and Head of Production Saifful Shah led the way, and the team had some adventures of their own as they ventured into the great Japanese unknown, and turned up some very cool locations in the process.
Japan based production company + B Film Production provided on the ground support, and it all came together with a large dose of the Seven Sundays can do attitude.
Saifful said of the experience, “I’ve always loved Tokyo, and it’s a beautiful place to shoot with a strong sense of culture, vibrancy and respect. But it’s also a difficult place for a film crew to get access to with any freedom, so it took all of our cunning to get the locations we wanted in the face of at times seemingly unsurmountable obstacles. If the first answer was a no, we just had to ask the same question another way”.
