Leo Burnett Malaysia highlights 168 years of Carlsberg heritage by ‘bergifing’ facebook users
Leo Burnett Malaysia were tasked to create a website highlighting 168 years of Carlsberg heritage. But the very word heritage strikes the fear of boredom. When Carlsberg does something, it would probably be the best in the world. So, how did they make this heritage site the best in the world? Simple. By making the website personally written for each and every user. It made history more relatable. They pulled in data from Facebook to create personalized content for every user and gave people the option to personalize the brand name itself. In the process, they probably created the first personalized website in the world.

So simple. Great. Why didn’t I think of this?
This is toe-curlingly bad.

Errrrrr, not not really. Pull in data to create personalized content for every user means you need to top the ancient ol’ Intel Museum Of Me.
This, however, just stuck someone’s name in front of “Berg”??? A non-alcoholic drink did that level of “personalisation” years ago, remember.
The Earth is Unshattered, to put it mildly.
