Cannes Contenders: Ogilvy Bangkok
How will Asia Pacific perform at Cannes this year? In the lead up to the Festival, Campaign Brief Asia will be showcasing the work we hope will impress the judges…

With PETA’s objective to end the use of exotic skin, we aimed to get people who are blinded by luxury beauty to realize the animal suffering behind this brutal trade. We brought animal cruelty to life in a place most familiar to those craving for beauty in exotic leather. The luxury boutique store displaying a collection of fashion products seemingly made from exotic skin was set up in the heart of Bangkok’s fashion district. However, the product interiors recreated the moment of excruciating agony animals endure – of being skinned alive. Design mechanics were utilized to replicate animals’ live internal organs. Hidden cameras captured the shocking reactions of visitors and the video was spread online to amplify the reach.

Consumers do not reassess when it comes to the choice and quality of paper they use. They unknowingly and willingly spend money on unnecessary supplies to help their paper last longer. The objective is to create a product performance recognition and prove that Hi-Jet is the paper of choice for use in indoor productions.
The idea is to create an aquarium exhibition using actual aquarium elements such as acrylic fish tank, various types of fishes, rocks, and Hi-Jet water-resistant paper. We mimic the art and beauty of existing aquatic plants to illustrate the strength of Hi-Jet papers. The design is co-created with the paper cut artists.
Focus Screen Protector: Screen Addiction
Ogilvy Bangkok
People spend a lot of time on their tablets, mobile phones, and handheld game consoles. Blue ray emitted from those screens can be detrimental to our eyes. With blue light cut technology in Focus screen protector, blue ray is effectively filtered to protect you from eye strain and help soothe your eyes. The product performance was illustrated through heavy screen users–kids who often spend hours on their entertainment devices. The ads show cartoon, movie and game characters poking on the kid’s eyes to depict how harmful it is to leave your eyes exposed to blue ray.
