Mosquitos kill more people every year than any other animal in the world, and in 2015 alone, Thailand experienced more than a 207% increase in dengue patients – making it one of the worst years in recent history for this deadly mosquito-borne disease. The Duang Prateep Foundation, a non-profit charity dedicated to improving the lives of slum residents, wanted to do something about this, so together BBDO Bangkok created MotoRepellent to help combat mosquito infestation and mosquito-borne illnesses in the slums with motorcycles; because like mosquitos, they are everywhere.

MotoRepellent is a light-weight, mobile device filled with non-toxic mosquito repelling oil and magnetically attached to the end of a motorcycle’s exhaust pipe. Heat from the exhaust activates the oil and mosquito-repelling scent is propelled out into the air via exhaust pressure. As the main mode of transportation in the slums, motorcycles easily navigate the narrow alleys and reach every corner. As the motorcycles pass by, mosquitos within a radius of up to 3 meters are repelled, giving residents a safer, mosquito-free environment. Saving lives one ride at a time.

Thai food is delicious but sometimes very greasy. There’re hundreds of stir-fry and deep-fry dishes cooked with oil. These greasy dishes cause Thais to have the 2nd highest obesity rate in South East Asia, and create a prevalence of health problems such as high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Unhealthy eating behaviour is hard to change, and most Thai people go for what’s delicious. How can we help Thai people eat healthier without changing their regular meal? We decided to tackle how they eat their food. In cooperation with Thai Health Promotion Foundation, we created “AbsorbPlate,” the world’s first innovative design that makes Thai food less greasy and allow people to eat healthier in every meal. Hundreds of tiny holes inspired by the texture of sponge make AbsorbPlate able to separate excess oil from food before people eat it. The plate can reduce up to 7 ml of grease or approximately 30 calories per plate. The plates were designed to be easy to wash. In order to eat healthier, all they need to do is just continue their regular eating behaviour on our plate.

The world’s 2nd highest number of motorcycle accidents happens in Thailand. 80% of motorcyclist fatalities occur on rural roads and the danger increases when riders ride alone, or at night. In many cases, head injury causes riders to lose their consciousness, leaving them unable to call for help. By the time emergency rescue team or someone notices, it’s too late. When the time is ticking, is there something that can help riders when they need it most? In cooperation with ThaiHealth’s Road Safety Project, we created HELPMET, the world’s first helmet that can detect a serious head impact and call for help when riders are unconscious.  HELPMET is an advanced motorcycle helmet that redefines the emergency rescue process, making response and rescue possible in situations where it was not previously. HELPMET revolutionizes the accident reporting process from the current voice-based method–which depends on the victim or passersby–to a more immediate and responsive digital method. It features built-in Piezo shock sensor, built-in GPS, and GSM Cellular technology. With the shock sensor, if the head impact is measured and exceeded 95 g-force, a dangerous level that leads to unconsciousness, an emergency SMS will be sent by HELPMET to the National Emergency Centre and the rider’s emergency  contact in real-time, with the rider’s geolocation and important health information such as blood type, medical record, and insurance information that the rider’s registered in the website for an immediate rescue.

In these past years, headphones distraction has been one of the causes of road accidents. Numbers of pedestrians in Thailand have lost their lives while walking on road and listening to the music they love because using headphones make them unaware of the surroundings. These include car, motorbike, and train, which can be dangerous to themselves and everyone on the road.

LMG Insurance’s mission is to liberate people’s life from worry. We wants to help people to be aware and avoid this life-threatening risk. But how can we help save their life ..when music is their life?

Introducing Safe & Sound Music Player Music Player, The world’s first music app for pedestrians’ safer music experience.

The built-in mode in music player app allows everyone to enjoy the music while also avoiding road accident. By integrating the Location Tracking feature, users can play their tunes right from the app and walk with their headphones on. When they approach main road or a rail track, where accidents mostly occur, the app will automatically lower the volume of the music to 70% and activating the microphone to allow the surrounding noise to come in by 30%. By doing so, people can be more aware of the surrounding, lowering the risk of accidents. For best music experience, by using smart speed tracking system, Safe&Sound mode will not be activated when user is on car or mass transit.
