Durga Pujo isn’t just an event that brings the city of Kolkata to a halt. Durga Pujo is a festival that brings people together all across India. The fun, food and the fervour that Durga Pujo brings is something that can’t be replicated. The entire city turns into a beautiful dreamland of joy and togetherness. Legrand India and LIQVD Asia partnered to bring vibrancy associated with Pujo for people living outside their home town.

Puja.jpgLegrand India, an electrical and digital infrastructures company along with its digital partners LIQVD Asia, plans to create a real time experience for the citizens around the country and elsewhere. Building on the excitement around the Pujo and allowing the people away from their hometown feel the pulse of the Pujo, the company has created an online destination  dedicated to festive happenings.

LIQVD ASIA created India’s 1st microsite on instagram “@ComeHomeToPujo.” which functions just like a regular website. It has 6 image tabs displaying the different aspects of Pujo, like a virtual library. Clicking on a category leads to the pictures within the category), all of which have their own Instagram accounts. Like Legrand_pandals, Legrand_Food, Legrand_Moments, Legrand_Pujo, Legrand_idols and Legrand_Coloured. The tagging feature on the app has been used to enable easy navigation and involvement from their users. A unique way of exhibiting similar to a website but in a way that turns head of the current Indian paparazzi generation.

“Durga Pujo is a festival that is full of vibrancy, emotions, joy of celebrations and pride. Instagram was an ideal platform where we could capture the essence of this magic visually.  We created a digital micro-experience zone on Instagram using its tagging features and grid structure in an unconventional way that allowed users to experience Pujo in its full glory and visually explore each aspect that makes Durga Pujo so magnanimous as they would do in a typical microsite,” said Mallicka Singh ,  Head, Social Media, LIQVD Asia.

Puja 2.jpgTA photography contest was conducted to capture the spirit of pujo festival all around the festivals ensuring the constant flow of material for the micro-experience.

Legrand India has been associating themselves with DurgaPujo pandels in Kolkata for almost a decade now. Last year #ComeHomeToPujo campaign generated prodigious response receiving over 1000 entries. This campaign helped citizens from far-flung regions connecting themselves with their favourite festival. Taking a cue from the popularity last year, Legrand has made this year’s campaign bigger and better by expanding the reach of the campaign.

To make this experience unique, the company also organised Flash Mobs which was performed at 20 different locations starting from Soshthi (The sixth day of Durga Puja).
