Arthur Tsang rejoins BBDO China taking up the Chief Creative Officer position

BBDO China has lured back Arthur Tsang in the Chief Creative Officer role. He will also assume the Global Creative Lead responsibilities on Team Mars.

Tsang (pictured) was previously a key player in the evolution of BBDO Greater China, from March 2010 to August 2017. He began his BBDO career as ECD of teams in both BBDO South China and BBDO Hong Kong and was then appointed to CCO of BBDO Beijing.

Tsang has been working in the industry for 18 years, contributing outstanding work and in-turn shaping advertising for world class clients including Mars-Wrigley, Mercedes Benz, Coca-Cola, Mengniu and Unilever, to mention a few. His creative expertise lies in multichannel storytelling and molding popular culture for clients and consumers alike.

A graduate of The University of Oxford, Tsang is a trained classical singer and a former recording artist in Hong Kong. As a music aficionado, his commercial connections in the industry and personal interest in the world of music steered him to start a music studio, in turn collaborating with leading musicians.

Tze Kiat Tan, CEO of BBDO Greater China commented, “We are very happy and honoured to welcome Arthur back to the BBDO Family. Arthur will sit on the Greater China Management team and Asia Creative Council alongside our other China creative leaders. He will be responsible for the Mars China team, BBDO South China business and other key accounts. Arthur has been a great member of our team in the past. His return boosts the strong creative organization of BBDO Greater China. Despite the challenges in the world economy, Arthur’s return signals the agency’s commitment to providing clients the highest levels of creativity BBDO is known for.”

“Arthur joins an outstanding team of top-flight creative leaders at BBDO led by Greater China Creative Chairman Leong Waifoong. As well as Arthur, the Greater China creative collective includes top Brazilian creative superstar Aricio Fortes, as well as creative veterans Awoo Lai (also in BBDO Shanghai) and Martin Tsai (in BBDO Taiwan), among others.” Said Tan.

Tsang commented about his new appointment, “The opportunity to take on a big brand for Mars at a global level was too significant to ignore. I hope this proves to be a turning point for China talent to stand up and influence the direction of large-scale global brands. And of course, rejoining the Agency that has instilled the creative-focused ethos of “the Work, the Work, the Work” in me, is a natural fit. I am truly excited to help lead BBDO China into the future.”

Jean-Paul Burge, Chairman and CEO BBDO Asia commented, “In uncertain times we continue to build the best talent base to serve our clients. Arthur is a top performer who joins a tremendously talented team, creatively led by Leong and the business by Tze. Needless to say, I am delighted”.
